philly jen and kelly lee premiered their show, "the show", last night at the walnut room. "the show" is basically a talk show with no editing... at all. this is what makes it unique and hilarious all at the same time!

my family and i are planning a trip to italy this summer. we are on the hunt for our passports and happened to come across my grandmother's first passport from italy.

road trip

we headed to maryland early this morning to do some thrifting!

we are getting ready for spring and have the dresses and bags to prove it. i can't wait until they hit the store.

leslie found an 80's concert tee and lots of men's westerns.

a friend stumbled upon lyell's beautiful website which displays their current look book for their fall 08' collection. the images are beautiful and also take you backstage their most recent runway show. we are waiting with baited breath for their s/s 09' collection to launch! my favorite so far... the tap suit!

n.o.t.o.r.i.o.u.s.

i am a huge fan of biggie since the summer of 95' just after graduating from high school. it was obvious i would be seeing "notorious" at some point during its debut. we went out for drinks ahead of time and then made our way over. the movie was amazing and was made really well for what it was.

mc q

it's confirmed... alexander mc queen is doing a line for target that will be coming out in march. i will be checking out the collection in stores, but i can't say i am particularly excited about it. previous lines have left disappointed feelings and therefore you never know what to expect unless you see the collection in person. i pulled together some of my favorite looks.

the pictures were taken from nylon who says their dresses are less than a concert ticket! nice.

vintage headgear

i was lucky enough to stumble upon pretty vintage headbands. each has a hint of metallic and tie in the back for a perfect fit. the headbands are dead stock. lucky for us... new vintage!

on sale now for $10. and much more amazing in person.

i bid on these ariat riding boots tonight and won! i almost always get outbid.

material culture

material culture is a hidden store in east falls where you can find treasures from all over the world. the eclectic mix has everything from furniture to small trinkets for around the home. i just loved the mix of colors.









after we headed to le bus in manayunk for a bowl of warm vegetarian chili. le bus is known for it's fresh baked breads that seamed to go perfectly with our lunch.

a little weekend fare

i had a really nice weekend with friends. on thursday night old MAC friends and i went to pod for strawberry mojitos and fresh sushi.

friday night kate and i went to the royal tavern for grilled cheese and the best butternut squash soup i have ever tasted. here's kate below. after dinner we went to the memphis taproom for local beer and the funniest conversations. i really needed a good laugh.

last night my mom and i drove all the way to new jersey just to see "the reader". it was a really good movie, but why can't we find any good movies in philly at some normal times? before we had a laughable dinner at a place i'd rather not mention.

it was such a nice weekend. it goes without saying, but thank goodness for friends. i hope you had a good weekend too.

what a doll

i did it! i finally found my very own set of nesting dolls... complete with 10 little gals! i found them today at wilbur vintage on 4th street. their selection of vintage clothes and trinkets was good and plenty. dresses lined the walls, jewelry was displayed in vignettes, and the fitting room even looked cozy.


i also found a multi chain gold necklace i will be wearing with everything! now, where will i put those nesting dolls?

it's 15 degrees here in philadelphia today! my toes began to feel numb while walking to the car! all this and no snow? where is the gigantic snowstorm i have been dreaming about? sigh.
oh! while i was walking dugan i saw the nursery school next door made bird feeders! i remember doing this when i was little made with peanut butter and bird seed. i'm sure we all did. these little bird feeders gave me nice memories when times were simple and innocent. as children this was one of our first lessons in compassion. i love it.


i am really trying to get on my goal of learning to sew. i called the philadelphia sewing collective, but they aren't giving any classes at this time. i would really like to learn in a classroom setting with other beginners. not that anyone reads this, but anyone know of any classes like this?
