happy new year!
2009 has been an amazing year. from start to finish i had a year to remember. my biggest accomplishment has been watching vintage connection grow. vc received two very special awards of "best vintage" from philadelphia magazine and philadelphia weekly... wow! who knew my little online store could grow and be recognized in the very city i grew up?
in 2009 my mom and i took 3 beautiful trips. one of those trips was to italy with my grandmother, aunt, uncle, and cousin. in italy my grandmother revisited the very place she grew up and raised her own family. we met relatives from both sides of our grandparent's families and had a very memorable and charming experience together.
oh and then there's ryan. my friend who became so much more and turned out to be one of the most amazing people in my life. i feel so blessed to have him.
in 2009 family and friends started their own families, got promoted in this rough economy, and even bought homes. it really has been a special year! i can only hope that 2010 is just as wonderful.
here's to 2010... you have a lot to live up to, but i can't wait to see what's in store! happy new year to all of YOU! happy 2010!!

butternut squash soup
there's nothing more comforting than a warm bowl of homemade soup on a cold winter's day. one of our favorites is creamy butternut squash soup. here's how we made it...
chop one cup of carrots, one cup of onion, and one cup of celery and saute in a pot with oil until tender.
add 1/4 cup of crushed tomatoes and 4 cups of water. cut the squash into small pieces and boil the ingredients in the pot for one hour.
when finished, blend the ingredients in a blender little by little to create the creamy texture. add salt and pepper to taste.
eat it up!
oh and i got the floral tablecloth at a flea market in rome. i just love it! it makes everything look so good!

acne's platform wedge. i wasn't crazy about them in black,

vintage connection makes a debut in PHILADELPHIA MAGAZINE
"Philly winters call for an arsenal of cold-weather accessories - but there's no reason to look like you're headed for the slopes. The polished, ladylike style of opera length gloves makes bundling up chic." ~ Carrie Denny (white leather 1950's gloves are selling at vintage connection for $25.)
