this past weekend my friend threw a joint birthday party for me and two other scorpios. it was a day of the dead themed birthday party filled with sugar skulls, home made margaritas, catered tacos, mexican chocolate cupcakes, great music, and a pinata!! the night was perfect and beautiful.

tied up and tousled

it's been a nice week... i have been getting so many nice surprises in the mail lately. the gals from tied up and tousled sent me a really nice package too! they make headbands and necklaces inspired by native american dress. the first thing that caught my eye was the beautiful art work on the back of their business cards.


they sent me this beautiful braided headband that double wraps and...

this amazing leather headband adorned with vintage trinkets.

a fragrant offering

i was so happy today when i got a package sent to me from amber of AB'OVO ORIGINALS TRADING POST! amber makes perfumes of lavender and indian sandalwood just to name a few. i really became enamored with amber's concoctions after reading about her on etsy... i appreciate her love of the earth and the love she places into every scent.

we had a little holiday gathering at the office today.

i got everyone in my little cubby a vintage sweater for christmas. here are a few friends modeling their gifts.

i was asked to gather my favorite vintage things. and so i did...

i love yellow in the summertime. funny face ruby was feeling it too. ok, so here's a clothes post... something i never do.




i'm wearing a 1950's pale yellow, ruffle romper and a vintage, quilted leather bag i got from my mimi. i miss you mimi.

was the response i received once the news about vintage connection's closing reached the public. it was really nice to hear, because deep in the heart of this vintage world i created i know vintage connection was a true success. not only in my own eyes, but in the eyes of others.
the choice i made to move away from vintage connection's brick and mortar location came when i realized there were other avenues this venture awarded me the opportunity to do. for the moment the best decision i made was to pursue these other adventures and see just where the wind takes me. i hope you respect this decision i have made and will continue to follow my journey.
i would like to leave you with the idea that this doesn't necessarily mean vintage connection is ending for good, but take comfort in thoughts that bits and pieces of it may pop up somewhere else. keep a look out, because you never know!

white suede medicine bag

free people just got back from a catalog shoot in colorado. to my surprise one of the girls brought me back this beautiful medicine bag as a gift! i am in love with it! medicine bags are known to aid in sickness when you place healing contents inside. i will place crystals and good luck pendants i got from my mom inside. do you have a medicine bag? what is inside of yours?


off to new york tomorrow... i'll be styling the mannequins in our showroom and then hopefully some shopping!

brunch with a good friend today

i met leigh today for brunch at pat's colonial kitchen in newtown. they make homemade strawberry jam that is to die for! we ordered a few things and shared everything. it was the ultimate pig out day.




leigh went to israel last summer and brought me this beautiful hand painted tile from a market in jerusalem. i can't wait to hang this in my kitchen one day.

a day in my little life

i spent the morning with the doggies. i realized i didn't have any photos with the dogs and thought i'd take the opportunity, except ruby wasn't interested. she wouldn't look at the camera if i was in the shot.

oh and two dogs... you have no idea how difficult this was and it still came out bad.

off to the store and then to blue sage vegetarian grille for ryan's mom's birthday. it was a great night... amazing people and the best food in the whole wide world! Happy Birthday, Suzie Q!
