(one of the cutest lunch trucks i ever did see)

and then lunch for avocado and shrimp salads at a nearby cafe.

on to the lower east side for vintage at daha...

where doub bought these amazing flare 70's jeans.

we had such a good day. i'm a little rusty on blogging, so just bare with me. x

gardenia

met a friend today for brunch and some chit chat. we each had strawberry basil iced tea and veggie omelets with side salads. all very tasty, but i'd go back for their homemade blueberry muffins and jam.

free people shoot: yummy foods we ate

we arrived at our hotel, the chilston park, for high tea. i fell in love with the egg salad tea sandwiches and scones smothered in clotted cream and strawberry preserves.

here is a photo of my hotel room which used to be a barn. it overlooked the courtyard... so beautiful!

on set the food was amazing! it was like getting a home cooked meal everyday! i loved the table settings.

we took a break from shooting one night for fish and chips at the pepper box inn.

our first night in london we headed to a middle eastern restaurant for a smorgasbord of food. we ordered so much our dishes sat on our laps!

after we took a ride through london on a bike driven cart. we rode through piccadilly circus and buckingham palace.

the next day was filled with shopping and high tea at liberty of london.

breakfast at spitalfields, my favorite day of all!

more breakfast, homemade cereal and bananas.

more photos to come...

guess where i'm going...

i was asked to go on the next photo shoot to assist in the styling for free people's september catalog. i can't say much about the shoot, but from the photos can you guess where we are heading?

THE UK!!!

in my opinion the uk is the mecca of fashion and trend setting! it has been my dream to go back now that i am old enough to appreciate all of its beauty.

the agenda: day one we will be scouting the area for the perfect spots for our shoot to take place. the next three days we will be shooting one of our most exciting catalogs. the fourth and fifth days we are heading to london to shop the spitalfields, brick lane, and portabello flea markets! i will be taking tons of photos to document our trip to share with you! we leave monday and will return the following monday. ahhhhh... can't wait!

what will i take??

teaspoons and petals

remember last spring's tea party? it was one of my favorite events here at vintage connection. well... haiku teacup creator, alexis siemons, has created a line inspired by her favorite jazz and blues songbirds to get us through the winter. take a peek...

to get inspired by her tea filled musings visit her blog. to get some tea cups to add to your cup collection visit her etsy shop.
now i leave you with one of alexis' inspiring haikus. enjoy!
