plant one on me

i'm redoing some potted plants at home and i always seem to choose thick, green succulents. i think they are beautiful and really easy to care for.

i saw some of the biggest succulents growing outside in california yards.


this is what succulents look like in a philadelphia yard... potted and small, yet really charming. i love this little backyard!


spring can't get here soon enough. if seasonal depression is real i think i have it bad.

workspace

my friend, diane, has the most inspiring living space. she keeps art, books, records, antiques, and anything else that inspires her close, so she is always able to create her own beautiful art pieces. here is a little glimpse of her work space that i had the pleasure of capturing.

april catalog, new york: day 2 & 3

we woke up early to meet for breakfast at the smile cafe and then headed to milk to meet sasha pivovarova for free people's april catalog. as soon as we arrived we organized the clothes and sasha got in hair and make up. one of my favorite photographers, guy aroch, shot this amazing catalog. the day was long, but we had to make sure every detail was perfect. here are some behind the scenes of days two and three all mixed up into one post.

sasha pivovarova - model off duty

i had the honor to work with sasha pivovarova this week for free people's april catalog. she arrived moto-cool in leather.




this bike was sitting in the lobby of milk studios. i thought it was appropriate for this post since sasha seemed ready to ride.

april catalog, new york: day 1

some of us arrived in new york wednesday afternoon with four suitcases filled with clothes for free people's april catalog shoot. we stayed at the beautiful bowery hotel on the lower east side. captivated by new york city, we quickly placed the bags in our rooms and hurried down stairs for tea, shopping and dinner.

i bought these sunglasses at on one my favorite shops, in god we trust.

doub picked up this entire outfit. hat and jeans: club monaco, jacket: topshop, sweater and clog boots: in god we trust, bag: vintage


i love the color of her new boots.


lauren got this furry hat to go with her alexander wang cape.

back to new york

we are heading back to new york today to shoot our april catalog. we are shooting in studio at milk, so it should be a quick one. photographer, guy aroch, will be shooting for us. i look forward to seeing guy again, but the real excitement will be styling model, sasha pivovarova!! oh my gosh... i hope i don't get star struck!

my bags are packed and ready to go! i will have lots of behind the scene photos when i get back.

a real new york minute

we ran to new york this afternoon for a fitting with model, ashley smith. then ran around the city for some shopping and then home again.
