fashionable impressions

last week local artist, diane roka, asked if she could borrow some of vintage connection's clothes to show a fashion illustration demo at hand impression's showroom. of course i agreed and had to run out to see how it was done for myself.

diane picked this 1960's powder blue dress with chiffon rosettes at the neckline amongst others. i have to say it looked great against her strawberry red hair and porcelain skin.

if you watch diane work she looks more at her subject than the actual paper. this is quite fascinating when you get a result such as this...

i really enjoyed the demonstrations and loved being reminded that fashion, in many ways, really is art.
