last weekend's happenings

last weekend was fun and relaxing at the same time. ryan and i spent a lot of time together. we really didn't venture out to meet friends and it was really nice.

on friday night we tried an amazing mexican restaurant called xochitl. we died and went to food heaven. they have a tequila bar that mixed some of the tastiest margaritas and for a starter we munched on made-to-order guacamole accompanied by the most amazing salty, crispy, air-like, toasted chips i ever did taste. that could have been my dinner, but i did try one of their dishes that they made vegan just for me:) i love this place!


we also got our 1960's barcelona chairs steamed cleaned this weekend and they came out beautiful and sparkly! i couldn't stop looking at them the entire day. the pale yellow color alone puts a smile on my face.


we ended the weekend with a stroll through penn's landing. the weather is starting to get nicer in philadelphia and we needed the fresh air and boat lit water to refresh us from the winter doldrums. it worked wonders.

our first christmas

this is our first christmas together in our new home and ryan has been doing everything to make it special. we picked our tree from a lot by our apartment, sang to christmas carols, and decorated the tree with a mix of vintage ornaments and miniature planes ryan has been collecting. i think our first tree came out pretty great.

feels like fall

and we have been having fun decorating. i love all the rich colors and crisp, cool air. i love all the layering that comes with fall too. i have decided now that i live in the city, where we can walk to pretty much everything, i want to focus on clothes that make me warm and cozy. now if i could only find the perfect parka.

home warming

my friend, susan, just moved into a new home. i visited tonight and as always... fell in love with her space. take a peek and tell me what you think.

homey little things

i have had moving into a new apartment on my mind lately. see, after two years of having my little vintage store i realized that i had to move back home with my mom again. now that i have had time to get back on my feet i am ready for a new beginning in a new place. i move into my new apartment in july and have been finding lots of things to fill it up!

i love the little japanese store, morihata, in philadelphia.



and city planter in northern liberties. i think i may have finally completed my terrarium.

workspace

my friend, diane, has the most inspiring living space. she keeps art, books, records, antiques, and anything else that inspires her close, so she is always able to create her own beautiful art pieces. here is a little glimpse of her work space that i had the pleasure of capturing.



hopefully she will let me take more photos of her space next time. i think you will find it so inspiring!

a vintage christmas

bbc's homes and antiques magazine had the prettiest christmas arrangements with pastel motifs and vintage treasures. i felt so inspired.

BOWIE FOR SALE

vintage connection is selling this extra large david bowie poster from 1973's aladdin sane album! it is so XL it takes up a big amount of wall space. i could see this poster in a dorm room or, where it sat for years and years, above a couch. the poster is way too large to display at vintage connection, so if you are interested in buying this poster or would like to inquire about it, please use the comment box to do so and i will get back to you.

fitting room fix up

so, it's been two years since i opened the store. with all of things i really wanted to do with the space, the fitting room always got last priority. well, with the store coming together after the awful leaks from october's rain, the fitting room finally feels complete.
