brooklyn: part 2

we got up late the next morning and had brunch at baci & abbraci. you will love everything if you have a chance to go. i had the margherita pizza with a sunny side up egg in the middle (what???) ... dunking the crispy crust in the egg was heaven!!



we all shared nutella bites for dessert.


after we made a quick stop for the brooklyn museum, because you always have to stop in. the back exhibit was about a new york man's quest to try every pizza in new york. yes, more pizza!



off to one of my favorite places for vintage textiles, stella dallas, where i scooped up this colorful navajo rug. i think i have the perfect place for it, but then again you never know.


i had a great time celebrating my friend's birthday and seeing as much of brooklyn as i could get in. it was an amazing weekend.

back from austin

i spent the week in austin, texas styling free people's july catalog. before i show you some behind the scenes i wanted to share my most favorite parts of sweet austin, texas...

number 1 is their plentiful vintage shopping!! i did some of my best vintage shopping there from feathers vintage to the little festival truck that was filled with the best, most inexpensive vintage of all. we went crazy dressing and undressing in that little truck, but the experience was most fun!

lucky us the sisters of the black moon took us shopping. these gals have the best style and are so, so sweet. rachel let me take tons of photos. i love her patch work jeans and all of those beautiful rings.





here are some of my austin finds... an embroidered mexican dress, wool navajo short sleeve cardigan, harley tee, velvet and fringe scarf, coral beaded necklace, indian bangles, levi's denim shorts, and black and white crochet shorts.


that's all for now. more favorites to come, but this couldn't wait. we went gaga over these girls and all the vintage we found!

spring toes and polka dots

i got a chance to get outside today. the weather was perfect. 82 degrees and a cool breeze. more, please!

saturday in pictures

i woke early, headed to the salvation army and added some vintage dresses to my collection.


in the early afternoon i checked out a couple apartments, but was feeling a little discouraged. a quick change to meet leigh in the city and i found a little one snuggled in my clothes. isn't that the sweetest thing you ever saw?


leigh and i stopped in anthropologie. she bought some spring tops and i was in awe of their housewares.





i grabbed a ceramic, patterned pot for some plants i have and a silver "H" for my shelf. then off to the continental for dinner and drinks. we love sofia coppola's canned champagne you drink with a red straw!



french onion dumplings for starters and onto vodka sodas...



i ordered one of my favorite, the crispy calamari salad. if you go, try their lobster mashed or lobster mac n' cheese. the food is amazing.


tapas for dessert... s'mores and chocolate peanut butter cups. YUM.


we had so much fun. looking forward to spending her birthday weekend in nyc next month!

participated in my favorite hobby today

thrifting! i found a few cute vintage dresses for spring. also, a 1970's gunne sax skirt and a 60's givenchy striped, long sleeve!


the weather was almost 60 degrees in philadelphia today. spring is on it's way!

thrifty finds

there's a salvation army close to home that i have scored some really good finds. i find thrifting therapeutic and i've been pretty lucky lately!

i got this vintage fur collared jacket for $19.99 last weekend


and a missoni mini dress for $2.99 this weekend. both fit perfectly! i'm going to make it a weekly ritual for fear i may miss something.

i mentioned in my earlier post that i would be using the end of may to highlight my time spent with vintage connection.
over 3 years ago vintage connection began as an online vintage shop where i sold my finds on ebay and used myspace to help promote my small business. i would vintage shop once a week all over pennsylvania, dress up in my finds and have my mom snap photos that i would place online the same evening. the business began as hello dolly! vintage and i later changed the name. here are a few of the vintage pieces i sold.

i cringe at the photos of myself, but this is how my dream began.
